A cold, sad day.

We lost Newton in the night.

He stopped purring yesterday evening so I knew it was time, and I'm very grateful that he died at home and didn't have to be taken to the vets.

We will miss him so much, but he brought us so much happiness while we had him and we have lots to be thankful for.

  3. Oh this is so so sad. I am glad he went peacefully, at home with the family he loved around him. No nasty vets messing him around. I still miss my baby boy Bob and he died in 2008. Treasure his memory and remember him with a smile.

  6. The human heart holds a special place for the critters we have loved during our lives... Heaven holds a special place for them until we meet again.
Sorry to read of your loss but take comfort in the fact that Newton was a wonderful cat that shared his life with you.

  8. Thank you all so much for your kind comments, it is such a hard time right now, I can't believe I won't be able to stroke him again but I'm sure in time will be able to look back on all the daft things he did and smile about them!

  10. Hello, I've also come over from Lyn's blog. I'm so sorry to hear about your lost. I lost Charlie in Sept 08 after a long illness, he was 16. It was the hardest thing for me as I cared for him daily, I still get very upset now. It does get easier but it can take a while. I have 2 more, one is nearly 20, so I know I'll have to go through it again soon....never again, no more cats for me :( I hope things get easier for you soon, sending hugs :) x

  12. Hi,
I perfectly know how you must feel at the moment, because I lost 3 of my beloved cats too.Two of them have been poisoned by unknown individuals who obviously have no feelings, aren't sensitive nor know the meaning of life. I still feel powerless for my lovely cats who've been gone now for almost 3 years, I still can't accept it. It's an unbearable pain, for those who really love their pets and consider them members of the family.I'm there with you, with my thoughts and heart during this sad moment..the only "cure" I seem to find to ease the pain are my other 6 cats, whom I love and never want to lose, for any reason!and it goes without saying, I feel the same for my dogs too.
As for the other part of your comment on my blog..you haven't been rude nor anything close to that, as I now realise, I must have mistaken and stop following you!So no sorries, really..I am now following you again, as I told you, I didn't notice until now that you weren't anymore on my list. I will keep commenting and reading your blog with interest, hopefully your days will be sooner happy again.
    Hugs,
    Annalisa
