Archie happily sleeping

Archie is very, very comfortable here in his favourite place for sleeping. He has been bouncing around in the garden all morning and has snuggled up on his hammock bed on his cat tower. He's getting very long now and doesn't really fit on unless he curls up, so he's done a lot of stretching his toes out today and has paws dangling over the edge.
But surely this is the most un-dignified position to choose?

I felt unable to take a photo from directly above to preserve his modesty, but almost wondered if I should start a most-un-dignified-cat-pose competition. I expect there has already been one somewhere.
While Archie has been snoozing I have been gardening and picking blackcurrants, then I realised I'd have to defrost the freezer so I could put them in. So I'm very bored waiting for it to finish.

Thank you for all your helpful comments on my last post - I'm actually really enjoying having no sweet things as it's made me eat really healthily - lots of avocados and green veg and fish (I had smoked salmon for breakfast this morning which was a bit odd, and also a bit expensive but at least it was on special offer - Archie was very happy to sample a bit - he's just learnt that people-food is very interesting!)
I do feel better for it so far, so will carry on as long as I can. And I will pop to the doctor too to ask for a blood test just so they can check everything's working properly, it can't do any harm and I'd never thought of low thyroid function, but it does fit with some of the symptoms so would be good to rule-out. So thank you once again for all your support.

  2. That photo of Archie sleeping in his twisted position is priceless. Save it in case there is another catnapping competition in the Cat Blogosphere (next round of Cat-O-Lympics, probably). He'd likely take 1st place!

I'm delighted to read you are feeling better and managing to be sugar-free without problem. Arrggh, wish I could do the same! LOL. The wheat-free is intriguing me, was chatting with a friend last night at dinner about that, as she's recently gone wheat-free also and feels much better for it. I think I would need a substitute for bread, couldn't do it otherwise. I'm sure there are lots of gluten-free products around, though; I just have to seek them out!

    Take care!

  3. I am so so so glad to hear that you are getting used to your no sugar diet. I think treating yourself to smoked salmon for breakfast is a lovely thing to do to say well done to yourself!!! Good luck with your blood tests - I hope all goes well!

And Archie is really growing up isn't he? He's so adorable and just so sweet!! What a sleeping position! Big big awwwwwwww!!!

    Take care

  4. Archie is a hoot! I wish I was as flexible...

My Hubby is diabetic so we don't eat a lot of sugary stuff; and he (Hurrah!) is a fab cook so we eat very little pre-packaged foods. You really are what you eat! I sure wish we could do a garden like yours.

Our one indulgence is some really good chocolate. The dark is good for your seratonin levels, and dammit, I need a sweetie with my afternoon tea!

  7. Glad to hear you are feeling a little better. Love the photo of Archie. It never fails to amaze me the positions our dogs sleep in at times. They just dont look comfy at all but I guess they must be to sleep :-)

  10. OK I feel like I am stalking you a little now (it's hard to restrain myself with all the sweet cat posts!). But if you ever DO run that undignified cat pose competition, perhaps you could take this one into consideration
