Happy Christmas

As the last few days before Christmas will, I'm sure, disappear in a haze of tidying, cleaning and possibly drinking ginger wine, I just wanted to wish you all a Happy Christmas. Thanks so much to those of you who have supported me in what has been a grim year, and I hope to catch up with you early in 2012.

And finally, it had to happen........

Note Monty and Leo's COMPLETE lack of concern for the chaos they have caused. After I righted the tree Leo stretched up on his tippy-toes and leaned on it hard so that it fell over again. Now I have weighed it down with a brick I found in the garden.

  1. LOL! Sorry! But that's so funny! Awww Leo and Monty are so innocent! LOL! The tree tripped up on itself! LOL!

Is that a punch bowl? It's beautiful!! I wish you and your family a most peaceful Christmas, Felted House! May your bowl be forever full of ginger wine!

    Take care!

  2. Hahaha! This is why my tree is tied to a ceiling plant hook. :-)

A very happy Christmas to you all, I hope the new year brings calm and peace and lots of time for your creative work.

  8. I remember those years. We bought a heavy duty cast iron tree stand. Tree hasn't fallen since.

I broke a lot of ornaments that last time.

  13. ahahhaha....... oh, dear. I can SO relate. In another life, when I had 5 cats...yes I was nuts.. we finally nailed our tree stand to a big 2 foot high box...that was 4 feet wide. The little buggers still vandalized it...and popped it right out of the stand...so then....we even tied some dental floss to the top of the tree and strung it to several corners of the ceiling of the room. They still had their merry way with it....by grabbing an end of the tinsel and trying to run off with it.... strangling the tree and making several balls fall off.....sigh ..useless. And we even had some spray that was supposed to deter them...but, to avail. Our biggest guy (Wee Tyke), who weighed 22 lbs.... took a flying leap into it about half way up the tree and over it went.... a total disaster...so we finally gave up and threw it out... after about a week of constantly fighting with them to stay away from the thing. Another year they unwrapped every single gift under the tree on Christmas Eve...and were sleeping on all the tissue and paper in the morning.... sigh. I think the CAt from Hell blog lady has a good idea...a cat toy tree. Give 'em their own tree...what a concept! Oh, but forget decorating another one...they think every tree is their very own....

Here's to a wonderful, healthy and happy New Year for us all..!! roll on 2012 !

I knew there was a reason why I didn't get a christmas tree, with 5 of the demons it wouldn't have stood a chance. lol
    Happy new year to you

  16. such well practiced nonchalance in the face of chaos is one of the many cat skills that exasperate and charm in equal measures!

hope you had a wonderful christmas, here's to a fab new year :)x

  17. Hi, I've just discovered your blog and your cats' antics made me laugh. :) We are also a family with 2 rescue cats, but luckily they haven't tried to climb our Christmas tree - yet! Wishing you and your loved ones A very Happy New Year, Pj x

  18. I just wanted to thank you for your kind words on my blog!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones and also a happy start of the new year! My cats gradually lost interest in the Christmas tree, at first they just climbed it before we put the decorations on...then, they were attracted by the shiny Christmas baubles. And finally, last Christmas they decided they could start "unwrapping" all the gifts under the tree... :) Who knows what their next Christmas project will be... :)

  23. It's December 19, 2012...So lovely to see a comment from you on my blog! It's "funny," but you crossed my mind a couple of weeks ago, wondering how things were going, if all was okay.

I'm glad the "boys" are doing well! Wishing you all a joyous holiday, with more joy and laughter in 2013 than sorrow and tears. :-)
